Food at our camp

Serbian traditional food is delicious and our cuisine is influenced by the country’s rich cultural and historical heritage. The cuisine is known for its hearty dishes and the use of fresh, locally-sourced ingredients. Some of the most popular traditional dishes in Serbia include cevapi, a grilled dish of minced meat, and pljeskavica, a grilled burger-like dish, sarma, various types of pies and many others.

An Important ingredient in Serbian traditional food is the use of vegetables. B&H has a long agricultural tradition, and the country is known for its fertile soil and diverse climate. As a result, a wide variety of vegetables are used in traditional Serbian dishes, including peppers, tomatoes, cucumbers, and onions. There isn’t a single meal being served without a salad. We love salads so much we want to serve them with deserts. 🙂

One of the most popular dishes in Bosnia and Herzegovina is cevapi. Cevapi is a grilled dish of minced meat, typically made from a mixture of pork and beef. The meat is seasoned with a variety of herbs and spices, and is served with onions, ajvar (a red pepper spread), and somun (a type of flatbread).

Other popular dishes, as mentioned above, are sarma, domestic pies, most popular one being burek, and if you ask for burek with cheese we will leave you in the middle of Perucica. Kidding. But don’t ask for it, musaka, veal (with use of “Sač”) and many others.

In addition to these dishes, Serbian traditional food also includes a number of delicious desserts and sweets. Serbian sweets are often made with honey, nuts, and fruits, and are a popular way to end a meal. Some of the most popular traditional sweets here include baklava, a layered pastry filled with honey and nuts, and rakija, a fruit brandy. You’ve probably heard of rakija.
